All quiet on the western front!!

Hi all.....it all seems a bit quiet out there in United Carpets Franchise land, does anyone have any news or updates? I've been talking to reps over the last few days and the general consensus is that no-one knows whats happening from a supplier point of view! Hows the sale going....Anyone breaking records? Any more rumours of store closures?

United sticking rigidly to franchisees paying them first policy which will lead to a build up of problems with vat paye and rates. A few stores have been taken over by ex brand managers on a month by month basis in preparation for the odd store to be closed and that stock to be put into brand managers stores.

Well he's told them he wants out they have tried to have him over and he's haveing none of it Paul eyre as warned him he is not to be messed with what a joke the man is a complete loon
It's about time Paul eyre learned he does not own and control everyone but he will never learn

Its a shame that even successfull franchisee's feel the need to jump ship, however I believe that everyone needs to make sure that they have an 'exit stratergy'. One that does not involve you walking away broke. When you look at the opportunities outside of the network it very soon hits home that your paying through the nose to line someones elses pockets. Combine that with the work effort and stress that a franchise requires....It makes you think!

Yeh they have all lost the plot on there and i think its the same few people just alternating there names,its a shame really because other people use that site and if they look and see crap they wont look again oh well must be getting paid well for it.

I spoke to Mel a few weeks after she had gone....She had got a job and had none of the pressures and was very happy, I tried to ring her middle of Dec for a catch up but her number has changed!! Ex Ilkeston will know....

Good on her and good luck to her.Every person i speak to that has left UTD is a lot happier and now enjoying life and theres more independents opened in the last 12 months than ever before so good luck to you all .

two more independents opened end of last year by us ex franchisees. Its tough out here but at least we have an achievable break even and our first lot of cheap advertising starts next week. Strangely first 9.5 percent of our turnover is all ours. good luck to all ex franchisees plunging into the independent carpet market.
